Log Activities

You can use activities in Salesforce to track all important tasks and events related to your leads and customers.

View Activities

  1. Find and open the record where you want to log an activity.

    Activities can be logged on most Salesforce records.

  2. Scroll down until you can see the Activities list.

    Activities are usually located further down the page.

    There are usually two activity lists:

    • Open Activities: Tasks you haven't completed yet.
    • Activity History: Completed tasks, past events, and any important activity you might have logged.

Create a Task

  1. Click New Task in the Open Activities list.

  2. Enter a Subject and any optional Comments.
  3. Select a Due Date.
  4. Click Save.
    Complete a Task

The task appears in the Open Activities section - and it will also appear in the Tasks area of the Home tab.

Complete a Task

  1. Click Cls next to the task you want to mark complete.

    The task appears.

  2. Click Save to mark it as complete.

The task is moved from the Open Activities list to the Activity History list.

Log a Call or Activity

You can also log calls - or any kind of important activity - to keep a record of it.

  1. Click Log a Call in the Activity History list.

  2. Enter a Subject and any optional Comments.
  3. Click Save.

Salesforce records the activity and displays it in the Activity History list.
